Abstract

Obstacles to implementing the Weed system for improving medical records so as to improve patient care, medical education, and research relate to the acceptance of an innovative system, to the mechanics of the system, and to the creation of an excellent problem list. Obstacles to acceptance and mechanics can be overcome by a small group of interested people who make a sincere effort to influence those around them but the creation of an excellent problem list requires intense work and a thought process that is the essence of a medical education. The method of creating an excellent problem list is discussed.
