Wesley W. Spink, MD... retiring in June 1973 as the first Regents' Professor of Medicine and Comparative Medicine at the University of Minnesota Medical School. He then will begin work, under a three-year $77,000 project grant from the US Department of Health, Education, and Welfare, on a comprehensive monograph tracing the evolution in scientific control of infectious diseases and forecasting future developments. The university and American College of Physicians recently honored Dr. Spink with a symposium on "Recent Advances in Infectious Diseases."
