This modestly sized book, Control of Renin Secretion, the 17th volume in Advances in Experimental Medicine and Biology, is a collection of papers presented at a workshop held in August 1971. Most areas of recent advance in the physiology, pharmacology, and physiopathology of renin secretion are covered in this series of papers, which are mostly summaries of ongoing research by leading investigators in this field.
The publication of the book less than a year after the conference makes the monograph a valuable summary of the current state of the art. Most of the data contained in the book have been published in various journals, but an interested reader would have to perform considerable library research to assemble the information contained compactly in this one volume.
