This is the 13th volume of the series of cardiovascular clinics edited by Albert Brest and is the second devoted to clinical-pathologic correlations. The guest editor, Jesse Edwards, has not only gathered a distinguished group of contributors but has contributed three of the 16 chapters.

The first four chapters deal with congenital heart disease and the next four with valvular disease; two describe the problems related to prosthetic valves and five the diseases of arteries and veins. One is devoted to the vascular responses to high altitude and one to tumors of the heart and pericardium. The bibliographies are excellent, and the illustrations are numerous and well reproduced. Occasionally there are illustrations with no reference in the text, but the legends seem adequate to explain their relevance.

In some chapters, many of the illustrations are roentgenograms of great interest, in others they clearly show gross or microscopic pathologic features. No
