I think there is logic in Dr. Powell's suggestion that hemochromatosis resulting from a genetic defect be termed "primary," whether occurring in the heterozygote or abnormal homozygote. Other forms of iron intoxication could then be called "secondary" or, perhaps, "acquired." Of course, all of us probably ought to agree on what we are discussing before we name it!
