—We would like to add our experience of the measurement of estradiol levels in ischemic heart disease to that of Luria and colleagues that was recently published in the Archives (1982;142:42-44).Significantly raised plasma estradiol levels in young survivors of myocardial infarction (MI) were previously reported from our departments.1 This report was a preliminary communication from a study of the circannual variation in plasma levels of this hormone that reported the results from the initial collection of blood samples in March 1978.
