Abstract

• During the past decade, fiberoptic bronchoscopy has proved to be a valuable diagnostic and therapeutic procedure with a low complication rate. Fiberoptic bronchoscopy performed while the patient is given a topical anesthetic is shown to be safe, expeditious, economical, and well suited in the treatment of selected outpatients.
