Neisseria mucosus Endocarditis Following Drug Abuse: Case Report and Review of the Literature

Abstract

• A 30-year-old man with drug addiction had endocarditis due to Neisseria mucosus. The infection was successfully treated with ampicillin sodium. To our knowledge, this is the first reported case of N mucosus endocarditis associated with intravenous drug abuse.
