—We read with interest the letter by Drs Katz and Powell. We apologize for overlooking the authors' article. As experience with thrombolytic therapies becomes more widespread, it, indeed, may become the therapy of choice. In our patients, the reason thrombolytic therapy was not used was because of the frequency of arterial punctures and recent placement of central lines. We were concerned about potential bleeding complications.We look forward to further experience with streptokinase therapy.
