—I have reviewed the letter of Dr Aguirre Errasti and coworkers. I think the letter confirms our findings. We want to thank Dr Aguirre Errasti for his supplemental data and references. I do not think we suggested that disseminated gonococcal infection in the elderly was a new fact but, since there are only a few publications about disseminated gonococcal infection in elderly patients, we wanted to stress that the diagnosis should be thought of in all patients with arthritis, arthralgia, and fever, despite their age and a negative history.
