We appreciate having the opportunity to respond to the comments of Roush et al.First, we would like to respond to the assertion that our case series did not provide objective and balanced information on the interaction of warfarin with the fluoroquinolones.1 Our discussion reflected the literature available at the time of submission of the manuscript. The clinical trials by Rindone et al2 and Rocci et al3 were published after submission of our manuscript to the ARCHIVES. The omission of these studies from our discussion was, therefore, not due to an intentional disregard of conflicting results.The discrepancies between the results of the trials by Rindone et al2 and Rocci et al3 and the cases described in our article1 serve to highlight the problem that currently exists in the assessment of drug-drug interactions.
