Dairy Intake, Reduced Body Iron Stores, and the Development of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

Arch Intern Med. 2005;165(20):2433-2434. doi:10.1001/archinte.165.20.2433-b

A plausible explanation of this beneficial association, which was not considered in the study,1 might also be related to the marked inhibitory effect on iron absorption of milk products.2-4
