Predicting Outcomes After Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation—Reply

Arch Intern Med. 2001;161(4):615-616. doi:

In reply

McCullough and colleagues describe their "clinimetric" tool for the prediction of hospital survival and neurologic outcomes in witnessed, out-of-hospital cardiac arrests with a primary cardiac cause among patients who survived until arrival at the emergency department. This decision support tool is interesting but quite different from the predictors of survival to hospital discharge for patients undergoing cardiopulmonary resuscitation within the Marshfield Medical Center, Marshfield, Wis, where we performed our study.1
