Possible Danger of Integrating CAM in Medical Education—Reply

I wholeheartedly agree with Haramati and Lumpkin that an integrative curriculum is much needed. The issue, however, is larger than merely incorporating CAM training into residency programs as Murtaza et al suggest. The institution of medicine has an opportunity to realign itself with the values of its consumers and take a leadership role in our culture. Integrative medicine can foster and facilitate that shift.1
