Errors in Sex Distribution

In the Original Investigation titled “β-Blocker–Associated Risks in Patients With Uncomplicated Hypertension Undergoing Noncardiac Surgery,”¹ published online October 5, 2015, there were 2 errors. In the first paragraph of the Results, in the sentence “Baseline clinical characteristics were generally similar between the 14 644 patients treated with β-blockers and the 40 676 patients treated with other antihypertensive drugs (Table), although slightly more women received β-blockers (64.9% of women vs 57.1% men),” the 57.1% should refer to the proportion of women who did not not receive β-blockers. The sentence should read as follows: “Baseline clinical characteristics were generally similar between the 14 644 patients treated with β-blockers and the 40 676 patients treated with other antihypertensive drugs (Table), although slightly more women received β-blockers (64.9% of women vs 57.1% of women, respectively).” In addition, in the first row of the Table, the numbers of female patients were reported incorrectly. The correct number (percentage) of women receiving β-blockers was 9511 (64.9); women receiving other antihypertensive drugs only, 23 233 (57.1). This article was corrected online.
