Incorrect Author Surname, Affiliation, and Figure Key

JAMA Intern Med. 2019;179(1):127. doi:10.1001/jamainternmed.2018.7586

In the Original Investigation titled “Effect of Exercise Intervention on Functional Decline in Very Elderly Patients During Acute Hospitalization: A Randomized Clinical Trial,” published online November 12, 2018, and in this issue of JAMA Internal Medicine,1 the middle initial and full surname of one of the authors was incorrect. In the byline, the fourth author’s name should have appeared as “Mikel L. Sáez de Asteasu, MSc.” This correction affects the presentation of his surname (Sáez de Asteasu) in the Author Affiliations and Author Contributions in the Article Information section. In addition, an institution name in the Author Affiliations was incorrect: the name of the institution in the second affiliation should have been given as “Biomedical Research Centre of the Government of Navarre (Navarrabiomed) and Navarra Institute for Health Research, Pamplona, Navarra, Spain.” Also, errors occurred in the color key in Figure 2B. The top 3 colors in that key were labeled (from the top) “Much worse,” “Worse,” and “Unchanged,” but the labels should have appeared as “Worse,” “Unchanged,” and “Slightly better,” respectively. This article was corrected online.
