We thank Auzou and colleagues for their interest in our case report and for clarifying the definition of dysarthria. We used the definition from Merritt's Textbook of Neurology.1Dysarthria was the term used to characterize the patient's unintelligible speech prior to diagnosis, and thus before the exact cause was known. Perhaps there is a better alternative to this widely used description, although we would favor a more pragmatic definition.
