Clinical neurophysiology, as a field, encompasses many subspecialties in neurology. For neurology trainees, or even experienced practitioners, finding a good, comprehensive textbook that reviews the nuts and bolts, as well as the clinical applications, of these many diverse concepts can be a daunting task. Fortunately, Dr Aminoff has provided a very readable and complete reference in his updated sixth edition of the classic textbook, Electrodiagnosis in Clinical Neurology. The first edition was published more than 30 years ago. Compared with the previous version (published in 2005), the 2012 edition contains several new chapters, and standard chapters have been updated to reflect current and forthcoming practices.
