Over the past 2 decades, the field of molecular genetics has drastically changed our concept of neurologic and psychiatric disease. The sheer volume of data that has been generated is overwhelming, and presenting this information in a format that is palatable to a broad audience is a daunting task. The fifth edition of Rosenberg’s Molecular and Genetic Basis of Neurological and Psychiatric Disease, widely considered the bible of neurogenetics, has once again proven equal to the challenge. Drs Rosenberg and Pascual have overseen the assembly of a remarkable body of work that includes contributions from more than 200 internationally renowned experts. There are a number of new chapters, and the older chapters have been thoroughly updated. As a testament to recent advances in this field of study, the new edition is more than 500 pages longer than the fourth edition that was published in 2008.
