2018 was an incredibly exciting time for all of us at JAMA Neurology, and I want to thank our editors, editorial board, reviewers,1 authors, and readers for all they have done to help the journal achieve such success over the past year. Once again, the year has been quite active, with new records set for the journal in terms of the number of submissions (Table) of major manuscripts (2229) and research manuscripts (1790). The Table also lists the top-ranked articles in terms of Altmetric scores (measures of news and social media coverage), citations, and views and downloads.2-10 While some of this growth may be linked with the journal’s increase in impact factor to 11.5, I am hopeful that it reflects a recognition that the journal has evolved, with a continuing emphasis on publishing a variety of important, relevant, and diverse offerings in research, opinion, and education.
