Neuroanatomy Training Program.
—A postgraduate training program in neuroanatomy has been established at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. This program, operated in conjunction with similar programs in other basic neurological sciences and the Neurological Institute, is designed to provide an appropriate foundation for an investigative or academic career. Opportunities will be available for preliminary course work in all of the basic neurological sciences and related fields. Training offered under this program includes (1) histochemistry of neural tissue, (2) degeneration and regeneration of neural tissue, (3) developmental and comparative neurology, (4) experimental neurology, (5) stereotaxic methods and their application, (6) histogenesis of neural tissue, (7) tissue culture studies of neural tissue, and (8) electron microscopic structure of sensory receptors, neural tissue, and muscle.Candidates holding the M.D. or the Ph.D. degree will be eligible for consideration.
