Dr. Denny-Brown again brings into print his background and vast experience in disorders of movement related to disease of the basal ganglia. Although not a second edition of his earlier, and now classic, monograph on the same subject in 1946, this book complements and brings up to date this previous work. It is based on his Croonian lectures given before the Royal College of Physicians in London, in 1960. There are two directions of emphasis: one the clinical description of patients with disorders of movement, and the second interpretation of symptomatology, based on experimental observations. In addition there is a bibliography of over 200 pertinent references. There is no doubt that this monograph will become the standard reference for diseases of the basal ganglia. It is superbly written and beautifully illustrated.
