Dr. Evans' second monograph on acute head injury, like the first, is a clear, brief, and comprehensive review of the subject. It is recommended reading for all who treat such patients and should be in the library of all residents of neurosurgery, neurology, and general surgery. He discusses scalp injuries, skull fractures, meningeal hemorrhage, and cerebral trauma including the mechanism of their production, the pathological and physiological changes which occur, and the indicated therapy, both surgical and medical.
