The first edition of Lord Brain's book was well received and obviously a very lucid volume of neurology. The second edition maintains the same high standards. The format, organization, and chapter headings remain unchanged. The book and each chapter are exactly the same length as before by pagination. This new volume does contain additional illustrations, particularly, on roentgenologic aspects of brain tumors. The bibliographic citations are certainly adequate in number and of excellent quality. They are sufficient to offer further opportunities to those desiring to expand their reading of the topics discussed, without weighing the book unduly with an overwhelming number of references. The book is well indexed and type setting and printing are excellent. At the end of the book there are charts of segmental innervations and a glossary which should be especially useful to the undergraduate student. The second edition is as desirable if not more so than
