In a volume numbering 176 pages of text material, the author has attempted to bring together all of the neurological disorders in which familial and genetic factors have been implicated. The task is obviously an enormous one and highly commendable. The result, however, leaves a great deal to be desired. Rather than a critical review, the author ends up with a cataloging of neurological diseases in which these factors have been reported. The bibliographic citations cover an additional 120 pages and include 2,814 references. The value of this volume is obvious. Those not wishing to attempt the difficult job of literature searching in this field will find this volume a handy reference.
