—I refer to the article in the November 1982 issue of the Archives, "Multifocal Interstitial Myositis Associated With Localized Lipoatrophy: A Benign Course," by Palliyath and Garcia (Arch Neurol 1982;39:722-724). My article, "Polymyositis Presenting With Severe Weakness Involving Only One Arm,"1 is listed as reference 9. In the first paragraph of the "Comment" section, Palliyath and Garcia use this reference to support the statement "In the congenital form of the disease, the absence of subcutaneous fat is generalized." In fact, my article refers neither to the congenital form of the disease (lipoatrophy) nor to any other form of it. Presumably the error occurred during typing or rewriting.
