Abstract

In Reply.  —I agree with Dr Poser that immunizations have a potential danger. We are, however, in substantial disagreement as to the methodology for documenting this danger. Dr Poser believes that case reports by individual practitioners provide suitable documentation; I do not. I insist on epidemiologic studies designed to show that neurologic manifestations attributed to immunization have a higher incidence in a vaccinated population than in a nonvaccinated one. One would not think that this position needs to be defended.
