In the original contribution titled "Citicoline Improves Verbal Memory in Aging," published in the May Archives (1996;53:441-448), a financial disclosure statement was omitted by the Editor. The statement disclosed the relationship of some of the authors to the pharmaceutical company that supplied the drug used in the study. It should have appeared as the second footnote on page 441: "Dr Spiers and Dr Hochanadel both have a minor equity interest in Interneuron Pharmaceuticals Inc, Lexington, Mass, that predates their involvement in this research project. Dr Wurtman is a paid consultant to Ferrer Internacional, Barcelona, Spain, and is an adviser to and holder of equity in Interneuron Pharmaceuticals Inc. Ferrer Internacional has licensed a patent held by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, relating to uses of citicoline, and Interneuron Pharmaceuticals Inc has sublicensed this patent for the development of an American product."
