We appreciate Dr von Kummer's interest in our article. The presumed discrepancies, however, are easy to explain. The aims of the 2 articles were different: While the American Journal of Neuroradiology (AJNR) article1 focused mainly on the feasibility of using time-to-peak (TTP) mapping during initial and early follow-up CT scans, the ARCHIVES article2 aimed to correlate additional parameters, such as final total infarct volume (hemispheric lesion volume [HLV]) calculated from follow-up CT scans, with the severity of neurological symptoms at stroke onset (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale [NIHSS] score) and therapeutic efficacy (nutritional vs nonnutritional reperfusion). Eight additional patients with symptoms of middle cerebral artery ischemia were included in the ARCHIVES article.
