Stroke is the most common cause of seizures in elderly persons and seizures are among the most common neurologic sequelae of stroke. This is a dynamic and critically important area in acute neurologic care and Silverman and colleagues provide a timely review, discussing the current understanding of the epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, and management issues.
