This small Trends in Neuroscience text is a derivative of the 6th Annual Advanced Course on the Use of Magnetic Resonance Techniques in Multiple Sclerosis, a workshop that was conducted in Milan, Italy, on June 1, 2002. The editors, Massimo Filippi and Giancarlo Comi, have assembled one of the premier multiple sclerosis (MS) clinical and research centers in the world. Collectively, their investigations have yielded among the most productive contributions to the literature on imaging in MS. As such, they were imminently qualified to orchestrate the development of this publication.
