We read with great interest the recent excellent article concerning interleukin (IL) 4 and IL-10 in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of patients with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease by Stoeck et al.1 They reported that patients with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease had elevated levels of CSF IL-4 and IL-10. They also determined that CSF IL-4 and IL-10 levels had increased in other patients with dementia compared with controls. We want to inquire about several points in their excellent study, especially on the data for patients with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.
