To the Editor In their article, Emilsson et al1 reported no association between statins and cancer-specific or all-cause mortality among patients with cancer, and argue that studies with contrary results are subject to selection bias resulting from mixing prevalent and new statin users, or from immortal time bias. We disagree with Emilsson et al1 that our report,2 focused on men with localized prostate cancer, may have misleading conclusions due to prevalent-user/selection bias.
