To the Editor I congratulate Adams and colleagues1 on their article in which they summarized the current landscape of immunotherapy in both early-stage and metastatic breast cancers, mainly focusing on immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) such as anti–programmed cell death 1/programmed cell death ligand 1 (anti–PD-1/PD-L1) antibodies. The authors pointed out that there is a lack of robust predictive biomarkers for response to ICB in breast cancer, because the alterations in traditional biomarkers, including microsatellite instability and tumor mutational burden, are infrequent in breast tumors. Herein, I want to touch on a similar situation, that is, adverse events (AEs) in patients with breast cancer treated with ICB.
