You and I,
We both know I am treading water in the blackest sea,
Desperate for a life preserver,
And my flailing arms will snatch at everything you say
And pray it floats.

I remember that you said,
“This is a lot to go through. But this is curative treatment.”
Because what I retained was,
“Curative.”
And what I thought was,
“This is not the end.”
