Errors in Hazard Ratios, Labels in Figures, and Text

JAMA Oncol. 2020;6(12):1985. doi:10.1001/jamaoncol.2020.7078

In the article titled “Multi-institutional Analysis of Prognostic Factors and Outcomes After Hypofractionated Stereotactic Radiotherapy to the Resection Cavity in Patients With Brain Metastases,” published online October 15, 2020, and also in the December 10, 2020, issue of JAMA Oncology,1 discrepancies between the findings described in the text and some hazard ratios (HRs) were reported in the text and Table 3. In addition, a software glitch led to reporting of reciprocal HR, and the labels for the curves in Figures 1C and 2C were flipped. Finally, during the editing process, the abbreviation BM was erroneously expanded to “bone metastases” rather than “brain metastasis” in several places. Most importantly, none of these errors affect the interpretations of conclusions of the study. This article was corrected online, and a letter of explanation has been published by the first author.2
