In a recent article, Votruba et al1 reported the clinical features of 87 patients with dominant optic atrophy (DOA). This is a very interesting article that provides important insights into this clinically heterogeneous, and sometimes elusive, disease. I would like to make a few comments based on a previous article that I coauthored,2 which inadvertently escaped the thorough literature review performed by Votruba et al.
