In Reply Point-of-view recording shows great promise for certain ophthalmic surgical procedures, including for scleral buckling. In the United States, the number of fellows who perform scleral buckling continues to decrease. Having additional training for this surgery is imperative, and high-quality video of these procedures may help trainees gain confidence in performing them. Three-dimensional recording and viewing as suggested by Birnbaum and colleagues potentially represents another dynamic way to educate surgeons, and we look forward to additional advances in this area.
