To the Editor We thank Willis et al1 for their study investigating the prevalence of functional burden among patients in the United States with diabetic retinopathy of varying levels of severity. The authors found that the vision-related functional burden was significantly greater in those with severe nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy and proliferative diabetic retinopathy compared with those without retinopathy.
