To the Editor The article by Jani et al1 in JAMA Ophthalmology supports the use of telemedicine for retinal screening among individuals with diabetes. The authors suggest that retinal telemedicine screenings in the primary care setting, with interpretation by ophthalmologists (specifically retinal specialists), increase patient access to diabetic eye screenings in rural and underserved areas.
