In Reply We thank Tanimoto for her inquiry on our recently published study.1 Our study demonstrated that point-of-care retinal screening with remote expert interpretation improved the reach of diabetic retinopathy evaluations in a diverse group of underserved patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. As Tanimoto points out, there is a need for producing standardized and reproducible retinal images in the telemedicine setting.
