This book is a superbly chronicled account of the first 75 years of
this prestigious eye institute. The affection and love of the author, Robert
B. Welch, for the Wilmer Institute and its traditions and spirit permeates
the entire book. This book is the product of hard work and is clearly a labor
of love. In 403 pages, the author has built on his previously written history
of the first 50 years with Dr M. Elliott Randolph, and developed a more encompassing
and detailed history.
