We read with interest the article titled "Long-term Complications of Silicone and Hydrogel Explants in Retinal Reattachment Surgery" by Roldan-Pallares et al.1 The authors commented on the technical difficulties in removing hydrogel scleral implants (Miragel; MIRA, Waltham, Mass) several years after retinal detachment surgery and in accord with the findings of a previously published article by Hwang et al.2
