We would like to thank Drs Braude and Edward for their comments on our clinicopathologic report.1 Although their article2 is fascinating, we believe that it has little relevance to ours.
In their letter, Drs Braude and Edward state that they have described a "pseudo" or partially split capsulorrhexis caused by splitting of the normal lens capsule. They did not use the term pseudocapsulorrhexis in their article, however. Furthermore, we question whether the term pseudocapsulorrhexis would be justified because the capsulorrhexis that they reported was composed of anterior lens capsule, but had tapering, partial thickness margins.
