In a Photo Essay in the December 1998 issue of the ARCHIVES,1 the name Fuchs was changed to Fuch, apparently because of editorial policy not to use the possessive case with eponymic syndromes and signs. While it may be preferred to say Arlt line and not Arlt's line, the final s of the name Dr Ernst Fuchs should not be confused with the possessive; it must not be deleted. The same applies to other names ending in s, such as Eales, Coats, and Graves.
