This short text has to be the best buy of 2002 for ophthalmologists working in the clinic. This small, hardcover text is beautifully illustrated and is part of a series called Fundamentals of Clinical Ophthalmology under the editorship of Professor Susan Lightman from the Institute of Ophthalmology at Moorfields Eye Hospital (London, England). This text is written from the viewpoint of a single author who has extensive experience in clinical and research aspects of corneal disease and in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows. The book shows the influence of the Moorfields tradition beginning with Barrie J. Jones and continuing with Dr Coster at Adelaide in Australia, and with the Danny B. Jones group at the Cullen Eye Institute in Houston, Tex.
