We read with interest the article by Roth et al1 describingthe occurrence of 7 cases of noninfectious endophthalmitis associated withintravitreal triamcinolone injection. They hypothesize that the clinical signsof endophthalmitis that they observed, namely anterior chamber cells and flare, posterior segment vitritis, and hypopyon, probably represented a toxic inflammatoryreaction to the drug or the vehicle in which it was suspended.
