In our recent article, “The International Classification of Retinopathy of Prematurity Revisited,”1Figure 10 was not the standard image used to diagnose plus disease that we indicated in the text. Rather, it is the example of plus disease used in the original classification published in 1984.2The Figure of plus disease we provide here is the standard image used to diagnose plus disease in several large treatment trials4-7of retinopathy of prematurity in the United States, including the recent Early Treatment for Retinopathy of Prematurity study.6We think it is important to provide this standard image for readers of the ARCHIVES because the minimum standard for plus disease is more important than ever in determining which infants should be treated for retinopathy of prematurity.
