I was interested to read the article by García-Arumí et al1 that is based on an uncontrolled study of 13 selected eyes with hemicentral retinal vein occlusion (HCRVO) that underwent radial optic neurotomy (RON). I have studied about 200 eyes with HCRVO as a part of my research on various aspects of retinal vein occlusion since 1973. Based on that experience, I would like to make the following observations about this study.
