To the Editor.—To Dr. P. Chalmer Jameson's interesting article in the Archives (9: 523 [April] 1933) on the vascularization of the anterior segment of the eye and experiment to diminish the tension with the dissection of the ciliary vessels, I should like to add some details.
In 1913, in Heidelberg, I reported that with the mere dissection of the episcleral vessels (which are mostly arteries) a reduction of the tension in glaucoma results through the reduction of the blood current into the ciliary body. Salus (Klin. Monatsbl. f. Augenh.64: 43, 1920), in his publication on cyclodialysis, described thoroughly our procedure of dissection of the ciliary (episcleral) arteries.
